Fear The Walking Dead 4x8
A bloodied and bruised Rick stumbles back into the courtyard, where a few walkers appear. They begin to walk towards him, but Carl shoots them in the head. They search for Judith, only to find her bloody baby carrier, which brings them to the conclusion that Judith is dead. Infuriated, Carl takes out his rifle and shoots a walker repeatedly down to his last shell, before tearfully breaking down. The pair then limp off, away from the Prison, which has been overrun by hordes of walkers, amongst them, a zombified Clara.
Fear the Walking Dead 4x8
Carl and Rick walk away from the prison, with Rick proclaiming, "Don't look back, Carl. Just keep walking", as herds of walkers stream in through the destroyed ruins. The prison became overrun, damaged beyond repair.
Which brings us to the elephant in the room. At the onset of the season, the present storyline was set up to incline that Madison was dead. It made sense given Alicia, Strand, Nick and Luciana's quest for revenge, but as the season progressed, I had a glimmer of hope that Madison might have actually been alive.
Morgan crossed over to Fear the Walking Dead and has been a recurring character on Fear the Walking Dead since his transition onto the series in season 4. The premiere episode of season 6 followed a season 5 cliffhanger that questioned Morgan's fate after being shot and left for dead by Virginia (Colby Minifie). The trailer and poster for season 6 showed Morgan with bloodshot eyes, causing fans to speculate what could be wrong with him. The season 6 premiere showed Morgan alive. His wound bursts open, resulting in a bad smell, which benefited Morgan, who could move along with the walkers without being attacked.
Fear the Walking Dead showrunner, Andrew Chambliss explained Morgan gets his immunity from his near-death scent (via Entertainment Weekly). Morgan's smell tricked the walkers into believing he was one of them. "He's so close to death, and that wound had been sadly treated by a mystery person, and it really is just kind of emitting the stench of death," Chambliss said. "And that is what kind of gives him almost this super-power where he can walk amongst the dead without being noticed." Morgan even yelled at the walkers to get their attention as they continue to pass by without noticing him, giving the appearance of a Morgan Jones immune twist.
In this case, it was something fans of the original series saw as The Whisperers walked among the Walkers with the scent of the dead on them. In Robert Kirkman's comic books, Morgan died after being bitten by a walker when a herd breached Alexandria's gates, which would have been around season 6 of the show. Morgan's longevity in both Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead is surprising but also feels full circle since he has been around since the beginning. Morgan has now survived several moments where he should have died, yet he continues on. It's hard to deny that Morgan is an intriguing character who has had a fascinating story of survival.
Then, the moment they team up with Althea and Morgan and John (well, sort of team up) everything goes to hell. Within hours, Nick is dead. The Vultures are almost all annihilated, John Dorie is grievously wounded, but it's all spread out across so many episodes and time jumps that it's more confusing than exciting.
The "Officer Friendly" that fans were introduced to in the first season is not the Rick audiences know and fear. However, there were still hints throughout the first couple of seasons that he had it in him to be the stern, daring leader he became.
The Governor was the first villain that Rick and his group encountered. Rick doesn't allow himself to show fear in the face of his enemy. Instead, he mocks the man, saying this when the Governor tries to act like the man in charge.
The fight with the Governor prepared Rick for the CRM in many ways, proving to him there were truly evil people capable of heinous acts. Even against a fearsome opponent, Rick didn't let the enemy see that he was concerned about their odds. This was the first sign Rick could face the odds against him, not just the walking dead but also the living.
Rick has rarely ever relented or shown fear in the face of death. Even when they encountered Negan's group, he was more concerned with others' lives than his own. As the Terminus people lined them up to be slaughtered, he says this to the leader, Gareth, with determination and confidence.
It wasn't long after the end of the war with the Saviors that Rick disappeared from his group, presumed dead. However, his decision not to kill Negan was a defining moment for his character, showing he had the ability to make decisions for the good of his community. 041b061a72
